Our History
Magnetherm was founded in 2011 by Jason Conaway, building on his extensive field service experience through Left Coast Scales, established in 2002.
While calibrating and servicing scales in manufacturing facilities across Southern California, a recurring question from clients emerged:
“Do you certify metal detectors?”
At the time, many facilities struggled to find a reliable local provider capable of servicing multiple brands of metal detection equipment. Most manufacturers only serviced their own systems, requiring facilities to schedule several out-of-state or out-of-area vendors to complete annual certifications and service requirements. This resulted in higher costs, long lead times, scheduling challenges, and unnecessary operational disruptions.
Recognizing this gap, Magnetherm developed a consolidated on-site calibration solution capable of providing NIST-traceable certifications for multiple makes and models of inspection and measurement equipment in a single visit. This client-driven model improved efficiency, reduced downtime, and simplified compliance for manufacturing facilities.
Soon after, clients began requesting on-site calibration for thermometers and temperature equipment, which traditionally required shipping devices to off-site laboratories with long turnaround times and risk of damage in transit. In response, Magnetherm expanded its on-site calibration methods and procedures to include temperature and environmental measurement equipment, further strengthening its consolidated service offering.
The name “Magnetherm” reflects the company’s origins in metal detection and temperature calibration — two foundational service areas that shaped the company’s growth.
Our Growth and Client-Driven Philosophy
Magnetherm initially operated as a division of Left Coast Scales before becoming an independent company in 2013. Since then, our services have continually expanded based on the direct needs of our clients.
Every service we offer today has been developed in response to real challenges faced by manufacturing facilities, quality teams, and compliance departments. This client-focused evolution has shaped our unique ALL-IN service model:
All equipment.
All makes and models.
All completed in one visit.
All documentation issued promptly.
Our goal is not only to provide accurate calibration services, but also to create a smooth, dependable experience that supports long-term operational success.
Where We Are Headed
MagneTherm Calibration is currently pursuing ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation as part of our ongoing commitment to quality, accuracy, and industry compliance.
